floating-pointrepresentationsystem (=floating-pointsystem) — A numeration system in which a real number is represented by a pair of distinct numerals, the real number being the product of the mantissa, one of the numerals, and a value obtained by raising the implicit floating-point base to a power denoted by the exponent indicated by the second numeral. (In a floating-point representation system there are many representations of the same number obtained by moving the radix point and adjusting the exponent accordingly.) (05 Representation of data; 05.04 Floating-point representation system; 05.04.01) ujukomasüsteem (=ujukomakuju) Arvusüsteem, milles reaalarv esitatakse kahe eraldi numeraalina, nii et see reaalarv on mantissi, ühe numeraali ning sellise väärtuse korrutis, mis saadakse ilmutamata ujukomabaasi astendamisel järguga, mida näitab teine numeraal. (Ujukomasüsteemis on samal arvul palju esitusi, mis saadakse koma nihutamisega ja järgu vastava modifitseerimisega.) (05 Andmeesitus; 05.04 Ujukomasüsteem; 05.04.01)
